Jehan Thériault is a laborer. He was recruited to Acadia by Charles de Menou d'Aulnay and Charnisay and governor of Acadia. They went Auray July 28, 1632 (1936?) With the Commander of Isaac Razilly and arrived in Acadia the August 14 and September 8, 1632 after a month and a half of sailing. They landed at LaHave today LaHave, Nova Scotia. They settled in Port Royal. The commander of Razilly died in December 1635 and the command returns to Charles deMenou.

Jehan was a laborer and a peaceful man, his existence is completely unrolled at PortRoyal. This is not surprising since this institution was almost the only one in Acadia before 1680. Jehan and Périnne had 07 children Claude and Germain that will ensure the offspring of all families Thériault of America.

In the census of 1686, Jehan and Périnne are both deceased. According to research, Jehan reportedly died around 1686 and 1671.Périnne to

Charles de Menou d'Aulnay, (born in 1604 at Castle Charnisay, France; died accidentally in  Was alternately tower captain, a lieutenant in the Navy for his cousin Isaac Razilly and governor of Acadia. Born in France, his father was a high-ranking officer for Louis XIII.
Razilly Isaac became governor of Acadia in 1632 and Menou was one of his assistants, borrowing funds, renting boats and recruiting men for the regular crossings Atlantic for the Company of New France and a private company, Razilly-Condonnier. These companies sometimes have different interests, which occasioned an expensive competition.
Razilly died in 1635 and his brother, Claude deRazilly, was responsible for administering the Acadia as governor. Claude, held by his business in France, did not come to Acadia but named Charles de Menou d'Aulnay as a lieutenant to govern on their behalf and manage the company in Acadia while he managed the operations in France. It was only in 1638, Menou d'Aulnay will receive royal letter to his appointment as governor of Acadia.
After an intense and expensive struggle between his troops and the rival faction led by Charles de Saint-Étienne de la Tour and thanks to his decisive military victory by the capture of fort La Tour on the St. JohnRiverin 1645, Charles de Menou in 1647 was appointed governor of the whole region. This military supremacy does not helped resolve the economic and social instability in the colony which Charles de Menou d'Aulnay faces.
For his commitment to the settlement, he left a prosperous colony to his death. The main achievement de ofCharlesMenou d'Aulnay has been the establishment of the Acadian people in Port-Royal. It is one of the pioneers of European settlement in North America. After Charles de Menou accidental death in 1650, Acadia is sinking back into internal conflicts.
